My persons name is Arpiar Missakian. His family was attacked when he was really young by the Turks. But he wasn't captured and deported till 1915 when he was in his early 20's.
In this picture I think he's feeling sadness. Because he went through a lot in the genocide and was captured very late in his life. Also he lost his family members in this madness.
After the genocide I think he came to the U.S. and served in the U.S. Marines. I say this because in the bottom photo he his holding different medals. And one of those medals, is the medal of the symbol of the U.S. Marines.
